
RICHARD W. GARRISON, General Manager of Conigliaro Industries, graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy and Administration. After graduation, he sought public service and worked in Washington, D.C. as an administrator and fundraiser for several non-profit organizations.
Mr. Garrison joined Garden State Paper Company, the pioneer of the newsprint deinking industry, in 1983 as a recycling plant manager. He went on to work as a planning consultant and was involved in the planning and start up of Rhode Island’s statewide recycling program and over 40 other municipal programs throughout the US.
Most recently, Mr. Garrison served as Recycling Consultant for BFI’s New England Region. He conducted waste audits and set up recycling programs for major commercial accounts and trained BFI sales staff in the development and delivery of recycling services.
Mr. Garrison traveled to China as a delegate to the United States Citizen Ambassador program. In China he participated in waste management technology exchanges with environmental officials in 5 cities. He is currently a board member of MassRecycle.
As general manager for Conigliaro Industries, Mr. Garrison’s focus is the ongoing development of a world class recycling company. His day to day activities include facility and productivity upgrades, personnel management, and material marketing. His pioneering approach to recycling ensures Conigliaro Industries’ place as a leader in the recycling industry.
